British artist Tony Parsons creates bold, original oil paintings that capture not just places, but presence. His work spans luminous plein air landscapes and seascapes, and large-scale, abstracted animal paintings pulsing with colour and energy.
A significant portion of his life and career was spent as an Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) lifeboat skipper for 26 years, an experience that forged a deep connection to the raw power of the sea and the coastline that heavily influences his art. His work is exhibited in galleries such as the Peter Barker Fine Art Gallery, where it is collected by enthusiasts worldwide.
Parsons is a versatile artist; when working outdoors, his style is described as urgent and fluid, capturing the atmosphere of a place with spontaneous inclusions of local life, while his studio work is more thoughtful, focusing on abstract animal paintings that pulse with color and energy.
An innovator in his field, Parsons recently launched the TOAT system, which uses blockchain technology to provide secure provenance and a trading registry for his original artwork, allowing for secure and transparent resale.
He also shares his extensive expertise teaching one-to-one tuition, group sessions, public workshops and painting holidays.
