Sophie Aston trained at Glasgow School of Art and Chelsea College of Art in the 1990’s; her work has been exhibited internationally. Highlights of her career include being selected for The John Moores Painting Prize at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool in 2004 and a solo show in New York City in 2014. Sophie established a reputation for making very large landscape paintings during the early part of her career however she now prefers to work small scale in collage or in watercolour. Sophie has taught extensively in adult education as well as at the School of Art, University of Brighton and at Byam Shaw School of Art.
