FAQs

Can I cancel my workshop booking?

Cancellations must be made in writing/email more than 4 weeks prior to the course start date to guarantee a refund. Cornwall School of Art reserves the right to retain the full fee amount in case of cancellation after the 4 week deadline. If the workshop was fully-booked, we will endeavour to re-advertise the space if we have some notice, but can’t guarantee that the space will be filled.  We strongly advise students find someone else to take their place if unable to attend at short notice, as if we are only given a couple of days notice, it is unlikely that we will be able to fill it.  Our full cancellation policy can be found HERE. Please email us with any issues or concerns, info@cornwallartschool.co.uk.

I am ill at the last minute and unable to attend the course, can I have a refund?

We are very sorry but we are unable to offer refunds for any reason, unless a cancellation occurs at least 4 weeks prior to the course start date.  We will endeavour to re-advertise the space if some notice is given, but can’t guarantee that the space will be filled. Please read the full cancellation policy HERE.

Where do courses take place ?

All of our adult art courses take place at The Coach House Studio, just 8 minutes from the centre of Truro. Click HERE to read more about our beautiful countryside location. Our plein air courses will include some studio time, and some painting time in the grounds that surround the studio.

What should I bring to an art course?

Each course requires students to bring items detailed on the materials list, unless stated otherwise. These lists can be found on the materials section of each course booking page. We do offer a paint share option on most courses which allows students to use the paints we have at the studio, but you will still be required to bring other items such as painting surfaces. Some materials are available to purchase at the Coach House. We also offer the option to order art materials from our art shop in Truro that can be brought to the studio ready for the workshop – for more details click HERE.

Can I use a voucher to pay for my art course?

Workshop vouchers purchased on our website can be used against workshop bookings at point of booking. Paper gift vouchers purchased in our art shop can be redeemed against a workshop but needs to be booked through a member of staff in our shop. Please click HERE to read more about buying and redeeming art course vouchers online.

How do I travel to the studio?

The Coach House Studio is just an 8 minute drive from Truro, with plenty of free parking. This is the best way to reach us, and to explore Cornwall. Please click HERE to read more about travel options or contact us via email for more information.

How do I take my work home?

Please be mindful of how you intend to carry artwork home. This is especially important when considering booking an oil painting course. The paint may be wet which will require a specific carrying system, or laying flat in the boot of a car.

I want to combine a workshop with a holiday, can you recommend accommodation?

We have a whole host of recommended accommodation, restaurants and places to visit while in Cornwall. You can see all of our favourites HERE. We do advise that you take out holiday insurance on the off-chance that a workshop is cancelled due to tutor illness etc.

Are you wheelchair friendly?

Yes, we can accommodate wheelchairs for studio-based workshops; when you book, please let us know in the ‘comments’ section that you use a wheelchair and we can ensure we reserve the correct parking space for you adjacent to the wheelchair access, and set you up with an appropriate space in the art studio. We have a wheelchair friendly WC with a free-standing support frame.
