Painting the Wild Sea in Acrylics with Judi Trevorrow
Course Description
Hugely popular Judi Trevorrow will lead this acrylic painting course on the theme of ‘The Wild Sea’. You will observe a series of demonstrations which will show a range of techniques in Judi’s distinctive style and allow you to creatively translate the movement o crashing waves. Students should leave the day-long course with lots of new skills and a finished acrylic painting.

- Burnt sienna
- Ultramarine
- Indigo hue or indanthrene or (ultramarine and black)
- Sap green
- Permanent rose
- Primary colours – A selection of blues, yellows and red
- Canvas or canvas board – Approximate size 40x50cm
- Synthetic, flat acrylic brushes
- 4B pencil
- Old towel
- 2 water containers
- Masking tape
- Plastic rubber
- Stay wet palette or homemade with an air tight large plastic box, J cloth and greaseproof paper.
- Apron or messy clothes
- Black plastic bin liner

Judi Trevorrow is a hugely popular artist for her seascapes, harbour and floral paintings. Living in Cornwall, Judi is constantly inspired by the dramatic light, the surf and sand, the gardens and the myriad of tiny harbours and inlets.
Find Out MoreOur courses usually begin at 10am and end at 4:30pm, with a half an hour lunch break at around 1pm. There will also be brief morning and afternoon breaks, with free tea and coffee available in the kitchen area. At Lunch time you can make things nice and easy by pre-ordering a freshly prepared Coach House Lunch. Alternatively, you’re very welcome to bring along a packed lunch and any other refreshments you like.
On sunny days students and tutors are invited to enjoy breaktimes outside in the leafy courtyard or gardens surrounded by birdsong.
