Course Description

Figurative Course – Working from a life model you will develop an understanding of the fundamental structures and architecture of  the human anatomy, which is essential for creating a successful figurative sculpture.

You will uncover an understanding of the language of form and texture by exploring  how to create a realistic figure at 1/5 life size. From using measuring methods and learning the anatomy of the body and bone structure to defining detail of muscles and skin textures.

One day one, you will create a range of small maquette studies from short poses. You will start to create your 1/5 life size figure with attention and study of proportions and form.

On day two, you will hollow the plinth form of your sculpture and develop the details of the muscles and details such as the face, hair and texture of the figure.

This course is suitable for beginners and intermediate level.
