Festive Linocut card-making workshop with Jill Dunn
Course Description
Festive Linocut Course- come and create a unique one or two colour linocut block, from which to print your Christmas cards. Using traditional Linocut tools and techniques, you will learn how to design, carve and print your image. You will learn basic techniques of relief printmaking using a variety of tools and lino block surfaces. After a tutorial in tool use and an experiment with different blocks, we will design a carveable image and learn to transfer images to our lino block for carving. Once carved and test printed, you will use a table-press to pull a few prints from your block, learning about inks, pressure and different papers.

Our courses usually begin at 10am and end at 4:30pm, with a half an hour lunch break at around 1pm. There will also be brief morning and afternoon breaks, with free tea and coffee available in the kitchen area. At Lunch time you can make things nice and easy by pre-ordering a freshly prepared Coach House Lunch. Alternatively, you’re very welcome to bring along a packed lunch and any other refreshments you like.
On sunny days students and tutors are invited to enjoy breaktimes outside in the leafy courtyard or gardens surrounded by birdsong.
