DERWENT DEMO with Jonathan Newey

Course Description

Come and join us to watch professional artist Jonathan Newey demonstrate Derwent’s Coloursoft pencil range. His subject matter will be a primate’s face and during the two-hour demo, he will show you how he tackles eyes, hair, wrinkles, the mouth and nose. Jonathan will highlight the benefits of Derwent’s Coloursoft pencils which are known for their vibrant colours, specially chosen for richness and versatility, which apply with a velvety softness, making them perfect for mixing and blending. Despite their soft texture, you will learn how Coloursoft pencils sharpen to a fine point and work equally well for detailed illustrations or bold contemporary drawings.

This is an ideal opportunity for students to get expert advice on precision work and pick up lots of tips on the varied skills and techniques associated with these quality coloured pencils.

A video camera positioned overhead will project his artwork onto a large screen so people will be able to see in clear detail as his drawing progresses.

Tickets will include a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits.
